Quality Control (QC) Inspector – Manager (Position Filled)
Position Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to lead and grow our quality operations through a critical growth phase, including achieving AS9100D certification by Q2 2026. This role will build and manage our quality systems, lead the QC team through certification, and establish scalable processes that support our aggressive expansion plans. You’ll be joining at a pivotal moment as we transition from a 30-year legacy operation to an AI-forward, data-driven manufacturing organization.
Key Responsibilities
Quality System Leadership:
- Lead AS9100D certification effort from current state through successful registration by Q2 2026
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality management system (QMS)
- Create and manage quality documentation including procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans
- Establish internal audit program and conduct regular system audits
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data analytics and root cause analysis
Team Management & Development:
- Manage and develop QC inspection team (currently 2-3 inspectors)
- Plan for knowledge transfer from retiring QC personnel
- Establish training programs and inspector certification processes
- Build team capability to support planned growth from $4.65M to $10M revenue
Operational Quality Control:
- Oversee first article inspections (FAI) and in-process inspections for aerospace and medical components
- Manage receiving inspection and supplier quality programs
- Review and approve inspection methods and CMM programs
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of measurement equipment
- Lead customer quality interactions including audits and corrective action responses
Systems & Technology:
- Leverage JobBOSS2 ERP for quality data management and traceability
- Implement statistical process control (SPC) where beneficial
- Work with leadership team on quality metrics dashboards and KPIs
- Support integration of quality data into company’s business intelligence systems
Customer & Supplier Quality
- Manage customer corrective action requests (CAR/8D responses)
- Lead supplier quality initiatives and audits as needed
- Participate in new customer qualification processes
- Support sales team with quality capability presentations
Required Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- 5+ years quality management experience in precision manufacturing environment
- Direct experience leading AS9100 or ISO 9001 certification projects (AS9100 strongly preferred)
- Proven track record managing QC teams and building quality systems
- Experience with aerospace and/or medical device manufacturing quality requirements
- ASQ certifications (CQE, CQA, or CQM/OE) strongly preferred
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency with precision measurement equipment (micrometers, calipers, height gages, pin gages, etc.)
- CMM programming and operation experience required (CALYPSO and ZEISS)
- Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- Familiarity with first article inspection (AS9102) processes
- Experience with optical comparators, vision systems, and other advanced metrology equipment
Quality Systems Knowledge
- Deep understanding of AS9100D requirements and implementation
- Experience with internal auditing and audit management
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and FMEA methodologies
- Understanding of statistical process control principles
- Proficiency with corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes
Software & Systems
- Experience with ERP systems (JobBOSS2 experience a plus)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis
- Familiarity with quality management software systems
- Comfortable learning and leveraging new technology tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with FAA PMA or medical device (FDA/ISO 13485) requirements
- Background in CNC machining or manufacturing engineering
- Prior experience managing quality during high-growth phases
- Exposure to lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
- Experience with supplier quality and supply chain quality management

CNC Lathe Programmer and Machinist
General Description
The CNC Lathe Programmer and Machinist is primarily responsible for programming in the latest version of MasterCam, setting up, and operating CNC lathes, hones, grinders, and other shop equipment to produce prototypes and production components. The role includes writing programs, creating fixtures, and recommending tooling for optimal performance, while also supporting and training junior machinists and operators. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate a proactive approach to continuous improvement, ensuring cycle time efficiency of his work while coaching others, and leadership. After 90 days of demonstrated performance, the candidate would be re-evaluated for transition into Lead CNC Lathe Machinist.
Key Responsibilities
Programming and Setup:
- Develop and edit programs using MasterCam to produce high-quality components.
- Set up CNC lathes, grinders, and other equipment for efficient operation.
- Design fixtures and recommend tooling for optimal performance.
Production and Quality:
- Operate CNC machines to produce prototypes and production parts.
- Creates (preliminary?) inspection requirements for Junior Machinists/Operators. Collaborate with QC as needed.
- Monitor machinery and troubleshoot issues as needed, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Maintain adherence to quality standards, keeping scrap/rework rates below 2%.
Leadership and Training:
- Be able to train and mentor junior machinists and operators, ensuring accurate setups and production.
- Collaborate with the Production Manager to optimize job routing and timing.
- Act as a role model by maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement in processes and production flow.
- Actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and shop organization.
- Stay current on industry advancements in tools, machinery, and software.
Measures of Performance
- Demonstrates consistent improvement in cycle time/set up time efficiency and time management.
- Maintains quality standards with scrap/rework rates below 2%.
- Achieves or exceeds time estimates for job travelers.

CNC Mill Setup Machinist
Primarily responsible for setup and operation of CNC mills including 4 and 5-axis for production of short and medium run parts. In addition to other manufacturing and finish equipment in the shop, employee will be cross trained on the 5-Axis Haas’, EC400 and KMH500 horizontal milling machines. Participate in a successful Quality Management System. Maintain clear and positive communications with supervisors, fellow employees, customers, and suppliers.
Lean Practices / Continuous Improvement
In addition to daily work center organization, participate in weekly shop cleanup and point out areas for improvement. Participate in lean manufacturing and apply to daily work.
Measures of Performance (See also performance evaluation template)
- Consistently checks “chip-to-chip” time and time on jobs and points out when running over on time.
- Scrap/rework/reject rate is less than 2% of work produced.
- Has fewer than 2 “unproductive” hours weekly in E2 (e.g., always punched in on programming, cleaning, training, production, etc.)
- Consistently produces work within the time allotted on job traveler.
- Operators successfully (accurate/on-time) accomplish work that is set-up.
- Shows examples of how he/she stays current on trade related advances (machinery, tooling, software).
- Maintains a clean, organized and safe work area.
- Accurately and thoroughly follows the QMS process related to the manufacturing shop floor.

Shipping and Logistics Coordinator (Position Filled)
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Shipping & Logistics Coordinator to manage outbound shipping operations, including domestic and international shipments, crating, and freight scheduling. This role plays a key function in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of precision-manufactured components. The ideal candidate brings strong experience with crate building, international export documentation, freight coordination, and is proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Freight Coordination
- Process domestic and international shipments including required documentation such as BOLs, commercial invoices, and customs paperwork.
- Schedule LTL, FTL, and air/ocean freight pickups to meet customer deadlines.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders and customs brokers to ensure regulatory compliance.
Crating & Packaging
- Build secure, compliant crates for industrial components using proper tools and materials.
- Select and apply appropriate packaging to prevent shipping damage.
Outside Vendor Coordination and Management
- Incoming and outgoing material (raw material and outside vendor) management
- Compile/monitor machined components ready for outsource.
- Create PO when most cost effective for lot/vendor. Pack and ship to vendor or arrange for pickup.
- Manage On-time delivery of outside vendors.
Documentation & Inventory
- Maintain accurate shipping logs and export records.
- Track shipments and proactively manage delays or delivery issues.
Technology & Communications
- Use Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel to manage correspondence, reporting, and shipment tracking.
- Work within ERP/MRP or shipping platforms to input and retrieve shipping data.
Physical and Other Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in shipping/logistics within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong crate building experience for metal parts and industrial goods.
- Proficiency in international shipping practices and documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Familiarity with freight platforms and shipment tracking systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate hand tools safely.
- Forklift certification preferred; valid driver’s license required.

Quality Inspector
Innovative ISO9001:2015 registered manufacturing company in central Massachusetts seeking a CMM Programmer/Quality Inspector for complete inspection process – incoming to inline and final inspection. Work alongside designers and talented machinists to serve the manufacturing industry with high precision parts and solutions.
Candidate should be proficient in the use of CMMs (Calypso), vision inspection, digital height gages in addition to typical hand tool inspection. Training will be offered to a candidate who is knowledgeable yet requires specific software or equipment training.
General overview:
Inspect, sample, and sort products or goods being manufactured using appropriate inspection equipment. Understands and follows customer requirements related to manufacturing and delivery and retains files of such requirements. Produces written or computer-generated inspection reports and certificates of compliance per customer requirements. Performs shop floor inspections and documents on traveler. When appropriate, uses labeled photographs, clearly documents tooling, parts, and processes for complex, repeat jobs. Immediately and clearly communicates deficiencies discovered during inspection. Follows all related Quality procedures. Ensures inspection equipment is calibrated annually. Completes required supplier surveys. Ideal candidate will be trained to perform internal quality audits and participate in external ISO registration audits. Perform safety inspections and maintain MSDS log.
